Apps Anywhere is here!
The way we are delivering software applications has changed…
Over the past years, students have asked us how they can access software applications from any PC on campus as well as their own devices. Historically, our software had only been available on PCs in the Schools where the applications were taught. This lacked flexibility as students wanted to access them from any location across campus.
To address this issue, we have just launched a service called ‘Apps Anywhere’ – available on all student, teaching and open access PCs in University classrooms. ‘Apps Anywhere’ enhances the student experience by allowing software applications to ‘stream’ to devices on-demand, on any location and with ease.
As students log in, a portal will automatically launch with a list of the available software. Students can save their favourite applications, list them alphabetically or categorise then by School/subject discipline. They simply have to pick the application they want to use, click ‘Launch’ and get started!
We hope our community will welcome this addition to our services. Soon, it will make software applications available to staff as well as students’ own devices – where licensing permits.
