IT upgrades and maintenance w/c 8th January 2017

Prior to the return of the majority of students, IT Services plan to carry out further maintenance and upgrade work during w/c 8th January 2017.  During this time, services may be unavailable or are ‘at risk’ of being unavailable.


Sunday 8th January from 1730 hours until Monday 9th January until 0900 hours:  The data warehouse will be shut down to allow for maintenance.  This should not affect access to services, however it means access to data for report generation will be unavailable and qlikview dashboards will be out of date during this time.

Monday 9th January 2017 from 2130 hours until Tuesday 10th January 2017 at 1000 hours:  Almost all core services will be unavailable, such as:

  • SITS
  • KX
  • SID
  • PURE
  • MMS

This list covers some key services, but others may be affected.

Access to the university data network will be impacted.  This includes access to eduroam.

Thursday 12th January 0700-0900: there may be brief outages of services.  This includes access to the university website, data and telephone network (including eduroam).
