Our UniPrint devices are changing from Xerox to Ricoh

From Monday 30 June, we will install new printers across the University following the appointment of our new printer supplier, Agilico.

Agilico is an Edinburgh-based company with a focus on sustainability and a robust support model for staff and students. They partner with Ricoh, so our current Xerox printers will be replaced with Ricoh devices.

Dates of installation

We have published weekly schedules on the IT Service Status page for staff and students to view. The installations are spread over five weeks, starting with Walter Bower House and progressing through St Andrews.

Find the following schedules on IT Service Status:

If there is any change to locations or timing, we will update the IT Service Status page.

Impact for students and staff

Those using University-supplied laptops will be able to see the new print queue in the next month: UniPrint Ricoh. There will be two print queues on your device for five weeks until all the old Xerox printers are removed.

Other devices will require you to install the new printers using Apps Anywhere or manually using the guidance on the IT website.

Features

Printers have been replaced on a like-for-like basis. This means if the printer you used previously could print A3 and colour, so will the new one.

Training and support

Alongside the “how to use the printers” posters displayed next to each printer, there will be in-person demos for students and staff to attend:

We will make these sessions available in the Personal Development Management System (PDMS) soon for you to share with colleagues.
