Microsoft Teams is launching for staff

The University is launching Teams, Microsoft’s leading collaboration tool, and it will be available for all staff members next month. Learn more about Teams by tuning in to a Microsoft-hosted webinar on the new Office 365 blog.

What is Microsoft Teams?
Microsoft Teams brings file sharing, co-authoring, chat and video conferences together in one application. If you work with externals, you can add them into your Team too – you’ll just need their email address.

Teams Webinar

Microsoft’s web-based video presentation will provide an overview of Teams and its benefits, with a demonstration of the different features.

To watch the webinar, just visit the Office 365 blog on the above date. If you’re in an open-plan office, you may require headphones.

To sign up for an email notifcation which we’ll send to you as soon as the webinar is available:

  1. Visit the Office 365 blog
  2. Enter your email address on the homepage
  3. Click Subscribe

You can also add the event to your calendar using the University’s event page.

Drop-in sessions
If you have any questions which are unanswered after the webinar, we’ll be hosting two sessions afterwards so please feel free to pop in. Visit the event pages to see more details:
Arts Seminar Room 1, 14:00-15:00, Friday 15th February
MBS Seminar Room 1, 13:00-14:00, Wednesday 20th February

The sessions will be facilitated by IT staff, happy to discuss your queries during the times above.

We’ll will take a note of all questions raised during both sessions and publish full answers on the Office 365 blog afterwards.
